Takeaways
- Although more in-depth than most blogs or how-to books, the tutorials could have been further improved by way of visual hierarchy, additional functionality, and clearer writing.
- Enacting change within a team can be difficult. This project tested my ability to communicate and solve design problems from a non-leadership position.
- The business needs are still in question. Given more time, I would like to preform additional testing to validate the effectiveness of the long-term business sustainability.
- Created step-by-step multimedia tutorials that are simple at face, but offer germane information when further explanation is necessary.
- Implemented a novel achievement system that rewards finishing projects and acquiring skills from different handicraft hobbies.
- Developed share features and donation options that gently prompt users at emotional highpoints to encourage support.
- Pivoted from mobile to desktop. After talking with users, it became clear that the added viewing space on desktop is essential.
